Chilkur Balaji temple Hyderabad is popularly known as Visa Balaji temple. This temple is very rare of it’s kind because it’s the only Temple in India there is no Hundi to drop or offer money to god and Archaka Swamy. Another interesting fact is people 365 days do 11 pradakshinas to Lord Venkateswara saying their wish & 108 on completion of wishes. Many of whom come to pray Balaji for Visas to travel or move to the U.S. and other countries.

It’s ancient Hindu temple of Lord Balaji on the banks of Osman Sagar lake Hyderabad, Telangana. In the time of Bhaktha Ramadas uncle’s Akkanna and Madanna, this temple has been constructed.

Once upon a time there is a devotee who used to visit Tirupati Lord Venkateswara every year. Due to age and health factor he is unable to visit one year, he was very unhappy. He took the issue very seriously and unable to eat properly thinking of Lord. Then one night in his dream, Lord appeared and spoke to him. Don’t worry I’m here in the fields near forest. Then devotee ran there and saw a molehill at that place. He dug the hill and Suddenly axe struck between idol, then blood came out of molehill. Devotee is in the shock and he heard voice from air that pour cow’s milk on molehill.  Devotee did the same that he heard. Then self manifested idol of Lord Balaji with his consorts appeared.

In 1963 the idol of Rajya Lakshmi Devi is installed. In this idol goddess holds three lotus in her three hands and fourth hand shows lotus feet to pray which means don’t leave God’s feet which is called spirituality towards God. Many Guru from Sri Ahobila Mutt and Sri Sringeri Mutt visits this temple regularly.

With Lord Venkateswara idol, Shiva idol also found. On the left side of Lord Balaji, Shiva temple is there. The self manifested Sundareswara Swamy is near Ashwattha tree or Peepal tree. Once upon a time a sage did penance for Lord Shiva under this tree. He attained salvation from birth. From then this tree has become popular as Boon giving tree. There is Hanuman idol near this tree.

Brahmotsavams are performed to Lord after Srirama Navami festival. Annakota and poolangi are also special festivals.

Remedies for devotees

Devotees come here to say their problems to Lord. Chanting Govinda name devotees do 11 pradakshina and urge God to solve their problems. And they perform 108 pradakshina saying thanks to boon giving Lord Chilkur Balaji.

Every day 5 am – 8 pm

Pradakshina time – only afternoon 2 to 3 pm is break time.
